Jennifer Pruitt, LPCS

Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor who is Clinical Director at Discovery Point Retreat’s Waxahachie location. She has been in the mental health and substance abuse field for 15+ years, working diligently to learn more about the ever-changing world of behavioral health. She went to Southwestern Assemblies Of God University in Waxahachie, Texas, graduated with her Masters degree in Clinical Counseling and Psychology in 2015, and has been practicing ever since. She is an involved member of the Texas Counselor Association, Texas Trauma, and Mental Health Association. Currently, she is a Ph.D. candidate in pursuit of a Doctoral degree in Organized Leadership.

Growing up, Jennifer didn’t necessarily think about becoming a counselor. However, when she found herself needing someone to walk through a time of grief, pain, and uncertainty, it was through that experience that she discovered that she wanted to be that person in someone’s life that says, “Yes, this experience is difficult. But, I will walk this journey with you.” This purpose and role fill her heart with love, support, and fulfillment every day. 

In Jennifer’s free time, she enjoys capturing memories and beautiful moments on camera – as a love of hers has always been nature and the scenery it offers. She loves spending time with her family and children, making sure to make them feel seen, heard, loved, and appreciated, as she knows how truly important it is to receive and give support in times of need.
