Birdie Clift brings over 15 years of experience in the addiction treatment field, with a unique perspective shaped by her work on both the clinical and operational sides of care. As Executive Director at Discovery Point Retreat’s Waxahachie location, Birdie is committed to ensuring the highest quality of care for clients, helping them transform their lives through recovery. Watching clients actively engage in treatment and seeing the profound impact on their lives is the most rewarding aspect of her role.

Birdie’s journey at DPR began as an aftercare concierge, and her dedication, expertise, and leadership have propelled her to her current role as Executive Director.

Along the way, she developed DPR’s innovative Roadmap to Recovery and band system, which provides clients with a clear, structured pathway through treatment, combining privilege-based progression with accountability and recovery-focused goals. This system has become a cornerstone of DPR’s programs and reflects Birdie’s hands-on, client-centered approach.

With personal experience in recovery, Birdie has a deep understanding of the challenges clients face and connects with them without judgment, offering empathy, encouragement, and hope. Her leadership style is rooted in leading by example, fostering a collaborative environment where she works alongside her team to provide unwavering support.

Outside of work, Birdie is devoted to her faith and family. She cherishes time spent outdoors, enjoying activities like kayaking, horseback riding, and glamping. She also finds inspiration in learning about faith and growing spiritually. Birdie’s passion for helping others, combined with her hands-on approach and deep commitment to recovery, continues to make her a driving force at DPR Waxahachie.
