Alyssa Vara is a Licensed Professional Counselor and currently serves as Clinical Director, where she leads with integrity, compassion, and a strong commitment to quality care. She has experience across a wide range of treatment settings including inpatient, outpatient, and correctional environments, which has shaped her well-rounded approach to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. Alyssa specializes in trauma-informed care and has a strong focus on treating co-occurring disorders, recognizing the complex relationship between mental health and substance use. She incorporates evidence-based practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients process and heal from difficult experiences. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Sociology, and Health Professions from Texas Tech University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Alyssa believes in leading by example and is passionate about fostering growth not only in her clients but also in the teams she supervises. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their daughter, and their dogs. She is a firm believer in exercise as a form of therapy and loves staying active, especially going on walks with her little family.
